Some of these enemies are stationary, and will explode when you stand near them too long, while others will float around the arena and explode when you get too close, or strike them with your weapons. Dodge rolling at the last moment is an easy way to avoid taking damage.Īnother enemy type to look out for are the explosive squid-like monsters. The third new cultist variant you'll find are equipped with bows and will fire projectiles in a straight line across the arena in your direction. In addition to the cultist bombers, you'll also find scythe-wielding cultists that will chase you down and perform a charged swing attack with their scythe. These slow-moving enemies carry a backpack full of bombs and will periodically lob them at you as you move around the arena. Similar to the turret-like enemies found in Anura, there are stationary enemies with three eyes and horns that will spit out a cluster of fireball-like projectiles that should be avoided.Īnother new enemy type you'll encounter are the hooded cultist bombers. Learn the attack patterns as the area's miniboss will likely be a larger variant of one or two of the enemies you faced during that run. You'll generally be introduced to new enemies each run. Many enemies have a small and large variant, with the larger variants generally featuring more health or upgraded attacks. As with all enemies, watch for the slight glow before they attack, as it gives you a moment to dodge roll out of the way. Try to upgrade your abilities by delivering Sermons so you can gain more health, better weapons, and more spells to choose from that will help you on your Crusade runs through Anchordeep. Once you've bolstered your Cult to at least 9 Followers, head north from your Cult's village and approach the doorway to Anchordeep on the far left. The easiest way to obtain followers is to run through Darkwood or Anura again and seek out rooms with the Follower (praying person) icon below the room icon, or purchase them from Helob. To unlock the doorway to Anchordeep, the third main area in Cult of the Lamb, you'll need to have amassed at least 9 Followers.
